“Had I the heavens’ embroidered cloths,
Enwrought with golden and silver light,
The blue and the dim and the dark cloths
Of night and light and the half-light,
I would spread the cloths under your feet:
But I, being poor, have only my dreams;
I have spread my dreams under your feet;
Tread softly because you tread on my dreams.”
(“He Wishes For The Cloths Of Heaven” by William Butler Yeats)

This throw made of wool and silk is woven with a Jamawar design on traditional handloom.
The lightness of the fabric allows to wear it like a scarf as well.
Abhijeet was modelling for the first time and he was very easy with the camera.
This picture was shot with natural light at the upper terrace which is on the top of our office in Varanasi (Benaras).

“With time and patience the mulberry leaf becomes a silk gown.”
(Chinese Proverb)

This is a scarf in silk of our new Collection for Spring and Summer 2010.
This season we are introducing Abhijeet coming from Darjeeling in the Indian state of West Bengal who is modelling here for the first time.
This picture was shot this morning at the upper terrace of our office with natural light.
We are using traditional artcrafts techniques in a contemporary way in order to support several weavers of Varanasi (Benaras) who are involved in our production program.
Many were facing a difficult economic situation since a few years.
Banarsi weaving tradition is more than 1000 years old and has supported generations of craftmen.
