“Anyone whose goal is ‘something higher’ must expect someday to suffer vertigo.
What is vertigo?
Fear of falling?
No, Vertigo is something other than fear of falling.
It is the voice of the emptiness below us which tempts and lures us, it is the desire to fall, against which, terrified, we defend ourselves.”
(From ” The Unbearable Lightness of Being” by Milan Kundera)

Sometimes daydreaming along the Ganges provides a sensory disorder or a sensation of being off-balance and then a strong desire to fall.
To fall and forget everything, to confide in the holy waters like this young man diving at Scindia ghat in Varanasi (Benaras)…

“Dare to love yourself
as if you were a rainbow
with gold at both ends.”
(From “The River of Winged Dreams” by Aberjhani)

This young man was diving in the river of golden dreams at Scindia ghat in Varanasi (Benaras)…

“Inspiration is needed in geometry, just as much as in poetry.”
(Alexander Pushkin – Russian author, 1799-1837)

The Bhadohi district located at 45 Km from Varanasi (Benaras) is the biggest carpet manufacturing centre in India.
Well known carpets from Bhadohi cover all kind of ranges from mass market to the highest qualities, they are manufactured in various styles and designs.
This is a close-up shot in the factory of my Indian family where I always enjoy to take pictures.

“For the LORD thy God bringeth thee into a good land, a land of brooks of water, of fountains and depths that spring out of valleys and hills;
A land of wheat, and barley, and vines, and fig trees, and pomegranates; a land of oil olive, and honey;
A land wherein thou shalt eat bread without scarceness, thou shalt not lack any thing in it; a land whose stones are iron, and out of whose hills thou mayest dig brass.”
(Bible)

Those woolen threads are drying under the sun after the dyeing process.
They look like a field at the end of summer in a land of wheat.
I took this picture last afternoon in the courtyard of our factory which is in the countryside at 45 km away from Benaras.

The Liberated Dimension

The Liberated Dimension

“A HO!
The mind is the door to everything:
Free from the net of errant duality
The primordially liberated dimension –
To this, the ultimate Lama
I sincerely pay homage”.
(from My Crazy Tale, An Autobiographical Poem by H.H. the XIIth Gyalwang Drukpa)

Around seven o’clock in the morning, just after a long sunrise I took this picture thinking that there was something there which was reminding me New Mexcio.
Maybe it was because of the contrasted colours, or because of this amazing crystal light in the sky or simply because of the style of Thiksey Gompa, a secluded Tibetan monastery in the Ladakhi Himalayan hills.
