“Life is a train of moods like a string of beads; and as we pass through them they prove to be many colored lenses, which paint the world their own hue, and each shows us only what lies in its own focus.”
(Ralph Waldo Emerson – American Poet and Essayist, 1803-1882)
This is the train which goes from Delhi to Varanasi (Benaras), I took this picture when it stopped at Moradabad for ten minutes.
This young man is a chai wallah selling tea from one coach to another.
The train was full and we had to handle the usual heat of the last days of May, so each stop became a moment of happiness where I could find cold drinks and fresh fruits and take a few pictures in order to free my mind.
I always enjoy using Indian Railways, it allows to meet amazing people, to find the time to share a few words with them and to learn many things.
I try to travel by train as much as I can, it is not only a way to reach a place but also to travel in time…I treasure so many memories of funny stories and touching moments spent in those trains even if I am also fighting a lot with some unbelievable noisy and rude people at night…;))
