This picture belongs to a series shot along the Ganges in Varanasi (Benaras) at sunrise when the holy waters become liquid gold.
It is the moment when human souls are lost between dreams and reality and when it is sometimes possible to feel a glimpse of the “hereafter”.
Those magic periods of time only happen at dawn in the Eternal city also called the navel of the world.
This man came to do his laundry like he always do when the freshness of the night is still around, knowing that soon the heat of the sun will dry his clothes fast and will allow him to go to work.
It’s a matter of timing which comes back every morning, perpetually…
