Many ghats along river Ganga in Varanasi (Benaras) seems to be music paper with staves ready for musical notation.
People become notes in order to give rhythm to the soul of the oldest living city of the world.
In India, as in Western solfege, there are names for the seven basic pitches of a major scale, Shadja, Rishabh, Gandhar, Madhyam, Pancham, Dhaivat and Nishad, usually shortened Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Dha Ni.
