“There are two ways of spreading light: to be the candle or the mirror that reflects it.”
( Edith Wharton – American Novelist and short-story writer, 1862-1937)

One more picture of the celebrations of Dev Diwali on the occasion of Kartik Poornima on the Ghats of Varanasi (Benaras) decorated with thousands of Diyas (tiny earthen lamps).
These lamps are lit as a mark of welcome to the Gods as it is believed that they descend on earth on that special day.
Dev Diwali, celebrated on the fifteenth day of Diwali, is a tribute to river Ganga by the people of Varanasi, it is held on the full moon day in the month of Kartik (also known as Kartik Purnima) and is observed with fireworks, great fanfare and feasts at every ghat along the holy waters of the Ganges.
