Transcendental Journey

Transcendental Journey

“He who knows self as the enjoyer of the honey from the flowers of the senses, ever present within, ruler of time, goes beyond fear.
For this self is supreme!”
(Veda Upanishads)

This man was floating in the holy waters of the Ganges in Varanasi (Benaras).
He was quiet but apparently his mind was traveling from his body to other places that I don’t know so far…
During summers I see more yogis doing the same, I believe that this spiritual practice helps to bear the heat.

What an exquisite photo. I, too, practice a breathing and meditation technique that this yogi may be experiencing . . . only it is in my bath and sometimes in a hot tub – never the Ganges! I would love to download this photo on my computer and use it as I am telling people about a scheduled trip to Girnar next March, 2011 for a “meeting with immortals”. Blessings to you, your keen and loving eyes and your love of all that is India. Yasoda Deschenes
