Dreaming The Great Brahmin
‘The oldest living city in the world”.
This young Nepalese Brahmin was standing at the entrance of the Nepali temple in Varanasi (Benaras).
I took a few pictures of him such did my freinds Rajesh and Prabhat with whime I was rooming around the ghats that morning.
Brahmins are the priestly class of indo-Aryan origin, also known as Bahuns, occupies the highest position in the Hindu hierarchy.
They are said to have come to Nepal from different parts of India.
Today they are found in every part of Nepal and have taken up different occupations.
