This was shot near main ghat in Varanasi (Benaras), in a little street leading to river Ganga.
I enjoy to play with monkeys wherever I go in the city and that morning it was fun to see this group playing there.

Of course they were doing a mess with the flowers and anything on their way but since I have been reading Kipling’s “Jungle book” I am always on their side even if they can be very naughty.
Anyway who can know what is in a monkey’s mind…?
On the right wall there is a portrait of Amma, known as “the hugging saint”.
I met her twice, she was only smiling and laughing so I am sure that she would have enjoyed to see those monkeys playing with her garlands…
