A Thousand Fibers

The Muslim cimetery which is nearby some workshops which are manufactering some of our fabrics in Varanasi (Benaras), is the only open space which allows the weavers to strech their “taana” (warp).
Everyone is carefully working there in order to avoid walking on the tombs and it gives an unusal atmosphere to this place.
The cimetery acts like a theatre set where everyone has to play his life and all those thousand fibers seems to be the link between everyone, connecting the deads to us who are living, the shadow of their lost lives to ours which we have to carry on…
