A Journey of Time

A Journey of Time

“Time never changes.
Even if the world keeps changing its external presentation, it is still samsara.
Beings are still trapped in the wheel of existence, dancing with greed, hatred and delusion.
The same mind travels from one body to the next.
Sometimes we are animals, sometimes we are humans, and sometimes we are gods.
Our karma leads us on our journey, sometimes bitter, sometimes sweet.
Life is just a dream.
A hero is one who awakens from this dream.”

These words are the preface of “A Journey of Time”, the book of His Holiness the Twelfth Gyalwang Drukpa.

This is a picture of a child whome I met in front of Hemis Gompa, a secluded Tibetan monastery in the Himalayan hills of Ladakh.
He was there alone, playing with a pebble and he didn’t pay much attention to my camera.
At that time only the cold wind was breaking the silence around us.
I took several pictures of him and I felt that he already had the maturity of a Tibetan monk, I could perceive an amazing peace flowing out of him, something that he might have carried since the begining of his “journey”…
